How are Tessa Louise items manufactured?
Tessa Louise products are designed, cut and sewn out of our production studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We pay all of our employees a fair working wage and there is no way that we would be where we are now without our amazing, talented production crew.
Where do you source your fabrics?
Most of our fabrics are ordered through a handful of different fabric manufacturers. We use a fabric rep out of Chicago that has helped guide us over the last 3 years to finding our favorite companies that can provide consistent, high-quality materials.
Some of our fabrics- especially those used on limited edition/Statement pieces- are sourced from a local, family-owned fabric company that specializes in salvaged fabric. Salvaged fabric is the result of large retailers that may discontinue a product before working through all their fabric inventory. They then sell this excess fabric, which I am then able to purchase.
Occasionally, using this local source means that we cannot guarantee a fabric's content. Thank you for understanding this, as it allows us to continue to offer limited edition and exciting new items using a sustainable fabric source.
How do I launder my item?
Each item has care instructions specified for it's particular fabric content. We encourage you to follow these instructions to lengthen the life of your garment.
How should I store and care for my knit items?
We are huge fans of knits around here. Specifically those that are ultra soft and luxurious. Knit items are best stored folded on a shelf, in a drawer, or folded over a hanger. If you prefer to hang your items traditionally in your closet, we strongly recommend a felted hanger.
Can I iron or steam my items?
Yes, steaming is always a good route to take. For items that need more help with wrinkle-removal, iron from the wrong side of the garment (inside out) on the 'synthetic' or 'silk' temperature setting.
